Here at Abbots Green we’re busy fundraising by collecting old British or foreign coins and notes, even obsolete currency.
Initially you'll see lots of posters around the school as well as the collection bucket. Once all the currency has been collected we send it to:
who exchanges it into cash we can use. The bucket will be here all year so keep it coming please.
Introduction to the Friends of Abbots Green
The Friends of Abbots Green, known affectionately as FOAG, are a group of parents/grandparents who offer their time and effort voluntarily to raise funds for the school.
This funding is used to purchase additional resources, equipment and to provide memorable opportunities to enrich the learning and enjoyment of children attending Abbots Green.
The Friends work hard to ensure that their fundraising events are fun for the children and their families to be involved in and include such events as Dress Down Days, Christmas and Summer Fayres, Summer Camps and Easter Fun.
The Friends meet around once a month, usually at the school at 7.00pm on a weekday evening. A meeting usually lasts for up to 2 hours during which time they plan fundraising events. Although the FOAG is an informal group they are a registered charity and have a Chair, a Treasurer and a Secretary in addition to other members. There is normally also a representative from the school staff present at the meetings to work with the Friends.
Friends recognise that people have differing family and work commitments and so everyone does as much, or as little, as they are comfortable with - every contribution is valued and appreciated!

An End of Year message from Friends of Abbots Green - 21st July 2016
"We’ve had a busy year this year with a range of events that we hope you’ve enjoyed from Band Night and the Fashion Show through to a number of school fayres. Thanks to our volunteers and your support we have made in the region of £13,000 for the school which will be put to good use sometime in the new school year.
It goes without saying we are always looking for new volunteers to make events bigger and better and we are hosting our AGM / Welcome to Parents interested in supporting the Friends events in the new term on Wednesday 14th September. There’s a range of ways you can support so please do pop along to the meeting to have a chat and meet new people.
Have a great holiday and make sure you get your free lolly today!"
