Nursery Build 2009
This is a really exciting project for Abbots Green and Moreton Hall 2009 - 2010.
The decision to go ahead with this project will be known in early January 09 when the cabinet will make a decision to publish a statutory notice or not.

Information for you...

We aim to open the nursery in January 2010.

Building should start in March 09 using the contractors SEH French.

Access and site safety will be shared as soon as we get more information from SEH French.

We will be updating the website with nursery
information as soon as we can.
It will include

  • Admission details
  • Session times
  • Curriculum provision
  • Staffing information and vacancies
  • Events
  • Building updates
  • Pictures of the progress

This is a basic plan identifying location and possible outdoor landscaping proposals. We are discussing provision to be made for Tigers outdoor play to be relocated during the building phase (So they don't lose out)

These drawings will be updated regularly. Please read these as a basic template for location of areas

New drawings (to follow) include more detail on

  • furnishing
  • kitchen appliances
  • wet areas
  • outdoor provsison

We aim for the outside to be surrounded by new verandah's to offer sun and shelter.

The kitchen area is divided into two sections for learners to create in a safe and exploratory way.

Toilets will be extended and shared with Tigers, using varing sizes to accomodate our learners needs.

How we designed the nursery

A wide range of professionals have contributed to the design the nursery. Roxanne Hamill, Alex Bedford and Amy Arnold took the lead in making sure the space was used to maximise its potential. We used Dr Kenn Fishers learning and applied his theories on the pedagogy of space. Learning was also taken from Alex Bedford's international visit to schools in Sweden.
