About Our School

Abbots Green Community Primary School is located in the market town of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

The school which opened in September 2005  currently has 200 pupils aged from 3 to 9 years.  Within the school is a 12-place Specialist Support Centre for children with moderate to complex needs and a 52-place nursery was added to the school building in 2010.

In September 2010 Abbots Green became a two form entry school. Our school will continue to grow as future Reception year groups will each be made up of two classes. Further building works are due to commence in November 2011.

Our eco-friendly school building includes solar panels, a rainwater harvesting system, sedum covered roof, and walls insulated with recycled newspaper.

Within the school you will find excellent facilities including a modern ICT suite, a well stocked library, a sensory room featuring bubble tubes and mirror balls, and a large multi-purpose school hall.

The fabulous outdoor environment features a friendly giant sculpture as well as wooden houses for play and outdoor learning, gym trails and sensory paths. We have a ball court and a very large school field with two football pitches.
