Friends of Abbots Green

An Introduction to the Friends of Abbots Green

The Friends of Abbots Green, known affectionately as FOAG, are a group of parents/grandparents who offer their time and effort voluntarily to raise funds for the school.  This funding is used to purchase additional resources, equipment and to provide memorable opportunities to enrich the learning and enjoyment of children attending Abbots Green. The Friends work hard to ensure that their fundraising events are fun for the children and their families to be involved in and include such events as Dress Down Days, Christmas and Summer events, Summer Camps and Easter Fun.

The Friends meet around once a month, usually at the school at 7.00pm on a weekday evening. A meeting usually lasts for up to 2 hours during which time they plan fundraising events. Although the FOAG is an informal group they are a registered charity and have a Chair, a Treasurer and a Secretary in addition to other members. There is normally also a representative from the school staff present at the meetings to work with the Friends.

Friends recognise that people have differing family and work commitments and so everyone does as much, or as little, as they are comfortable with - every contribution is valued and appreciated! If you are interested in joining the Friends of Abbots Green, or would like to find out more, please email
